Meet Ian

Why I'm Here
My wife, Caitlin, grew up in Uxbridge. After meeting in university, we moved here in 2012 to start a family and now have two amazing, busy boys.

When I began personal training, I worked with all ranges of clients – seniors, teenager hockey players, middle-aged women, outdoorsy baby boomers, and active young adults. But when Caitlin became pregnant with our first child, I started studying to help her recover happily and healthily from child birth.

I was stunned to learn about the various issues moms face after childbirth. It was much more complex than simply losing a few pounds and fitting back into a favourite outfit. Incontinence, pelvic-organ prolapse, disastasis recti split (a separation of the abdominal wall, i.e. “mummy tummy”), back pain, and pelvic girdle pain are just a few problems post-partum women frequently encounter. I was angry and frustrated when I realized most women are being told by doctors, family members, or friends that they've had a baby and should “Just deal with it.” Had I not been in the health industry, Cait would have suffered the same fate, and it's unfair to all the other hardworking moms out there.

So now I'm a dad helping moms of all ages heal and strengthen their pre- and post-baby bodies, smartly and safely. Moms are beloved for wholly and selflessly giving to their children and families; it's my job to help them prioritize their own health and everyday quality of life too.

My Philosophy
Moms are the busiest people on the planet, juggling a thousand responsibilities at all times. Mom doesn't have two hours every day to hit the gym. As such, my goal is providing routines that are both fun and efficient, so you can look forward to your workouts and get them done without major disruption to your day. We'll tailor your “homework” to what works best for you, according to your schedule, exercise space, and personal fitness level, and update accordingly during our one-on-one sessions as you progress.
